Local couple and new owners of Little Switzerland, Alina and Tony Garcia met there 31 years ago. |
A true Little Switzerland Love Story! It all began one Sunday afternoon in April of 1970. A young woman from Napa accompanied her family to her parents' favorite Sonoma dance hall, Little Switzerland. On the same day, a young man was with a group of friends who decided to enjoy the afternoon dancing and listening to music at Little Switzerland. Neither realized this day would change the rest of their lives. As the young lady in red walked through the historic bar entrance, up the ramp to the dance floor, she paused with her family as her father scanned the room for an empty table. At this very moment, the young man spotted her from across the room and having not met the young lady in the red dress, announced to all his friends "I'm going to marry that girl". Hence began the courtship of Tony and Alina Garcia. They were married on September 2, 1973. Little Switzerland was a favorite spot for them to meet friends and enjoy a wonderful, fun-filled time during their courtship and first years of marriage. They now have three sons, Erik, Paul and Ryan. Thirty-five years later, they are pleased to be the new owners and they hope to continue the tradition of it being a special place to meet new and old friends and where families can bring their children. |
